A brief introduction of the school

V.K.Tawna high is a sister institute of VK Tawna College, runned by V.K. Tawna Education Society, a registered body under the Manipur Society Registration Act 1989 (Act No.1 of 1990), Regn. No. 172 of 2003, in memory of (late) Valte Khotintawn @V.K.Tawna

V.K. Tawna High is a recognized high school till standard X under the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur vide recognition No. G/54/01/2008/pt/1145 located at Vengnuam, New Lamka, Churachandpur. It’s Motto “Wisdom, Strength & Mercy” endeavours to develop the whole personality of the child – physically, intellectually, morally and spiritually.

Overview

VK Tawna High is a co-educational institution established in 2012, recognized by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur. It imparts education from Preparatory class till class- X.

VK Tawna High offers a flexible curriculum that addresses each child’s spiritual,academic, social and physical development. It focuses on extra-curricular involvement and student development beyond class hours. Vocational courses such as Carpentry, Tailoring, Cooking and Baking, etc.are offered to students to supplement formal education, hone their innate skills and talents and make them more productive in life. Club activities take place twice a month on Saturday for various clubs such as Dance, Music, Literary, Fitness, Art & Craft, Science, etc.

The school employs a variety of teaching methods from individual to group work and whole class teaching in keeping with the subject matter and setting. In addition, the school also uses digital learning techniques like Audio-visual classes.

Co-curricular activities are an integral part of the school curriculum. Inter-house competitions are held regularly in activities such as singing, dancing, recitation, etc. also encouraged are Painting, Drawing, Essay/Story writing and storytelling, Debate, Quiz, Games & Sports, etc.

VK Tawna High aims to provide high quality teaching and learning experiences to enable all children to achieve the highest possible standards in all areas of the curriculum which is broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated and also meets the needs of all children with special educational needs.
